01 / The basics

What FiveM actually is

FiveM is a free modification framework for GTA V on PC. It runs alongside your normal game, not instead of it, and connects you to community-run servers with their own cities, economies, jobs and rules. Roleplay servers, Drill UK among them, are persistent worlds: your character, money and reputation are still there tomorrow.

It is legitimate and free. You need to own GTA V; FiveM itself costs nothing and does not touch your GTA Online account, because it keeps its own separate files.

02 / What you need

The checklist

• A PC that runs GTA V. FiveM is PC only; consoles cannot join.
• A legitimate copy of GTA V: Steam, Rockstar Launcher or Epic all work.
• A microphone. Voice is how roleplay happens; most UK servers, including this one, require it.
• A Discord account: every server community lives there.

03 / Install

Installing FiveM

• Download the client from fivem.net, the only official source.
• Run it. It usually finds your GTA V install by itself; if not, point it at the folder.
• First launch downloads the core files. When the server browser appears, you are done.

04 / Connect

Joining a server

Three ways, all equivalent: search the in-client server browser, click a direct join link from a server's website or Discord, or press F8 inside FiveM and paste a connect command.

Drill UK is open: no whitelist, no application, no queue for a form. If the city has a free slot, you are in.

05 / First session

What happens when you arrive

Good UK servers do not leave you wandering. On Drill UK you get the placement conversation early in your first session: which gang suits you, or which job if the legitimate side is more your thing. Read the rules before you play, learn what gang life looks like, and see the legitimate work if you would rather earn your first pound honestly.
