Earning in the city
Money on a roleplay server is deliberately hard to earn and easy to lose; that is what makes it worth something. Here is how earning actually works on Drill UK, from your first hour to a career.
01 / Hour one
Your first honest pound
Type /jobcentre in the city or visit the Job Centre board. More than thirty walk-up jobs start the moment you pick one: window cleaning, bin rounds, postal runs, the quarry, construction, farming, fishing, lumberjacking, road maintenance and plenty more. No application, no interview, a waypoint and a wage. This is how every broke new arrival stops being broke.
02 / Careers
Apply for something bigger
The bigger responsibilities and the better stories sit behind applications. Police and NHS Ambulance recruit through the Job Centre with real questions, and they want calm heads more than perfect answers. Eleven player-run garages hire their own mechanics. Cafés, street food, pubs and clubs hire through their own bosses, and studios and shops round out the high street. The jobs page lists the whole board.
03 / The other side
Does crime pay?
This is a British crime roleplay server, so yes, the other side of the economy exists, and gangs run it. But crime here is a story you commit to, not a cash button: robberies follow strict rules, conflict needs initiation, and the police are real players who are good at their jobs. 04 / Spending
Where the money goes
Flats, cars, phones, businesses, and the paperwork that comes with each. The city's economy is a loop: you earn to own, owning gives you something to lose, and having something to lose is what makes every scene matter. Players who skip straight to wanting everything usually burn out; the ones who enjoy the climb are the ones who stay.
05 / Day one plan
A sensible first session
Arrive, get placed with a gang or pointed at a job, run a couple of walk-up shifts for pocket money, and spend the rest of the session meeting people. Money follows relationships here far more than grinding. Start with the joining guide if you are not in the city yet.
